Job Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Brand Publicity and Influencer Marketing, the Events Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of author and publisher events and key brand activations through an integrated marketing lens. This role supports the development and delivery of end-to-end event experiences that elevate Harlequin Brand Publishing’s visibility and audience engagement. This position works closely with the Brand Manager, internal marketing teams, and external partners to bring event concepts to life from ideation through execution.

Responsibilities

  • Apply an integrated marketing lens (PR, Social, Influencer) to support identification and execution of key brand moments around author events and key activations.
  • Maintain a forward-looking author events calendar to identify opportunities and support long-term planning
  • Lead day-to-day execution of events and activations from concept through delivery.
  • Partner cross-functionally to develop and operationalize event concepts and experiences
  • Manage event logistics (e.g. contracts, permits), production of assets (e.g., standees, step-and-repeats, promotional materials) and support on-site execution, including author and participant experience, as needed
  • Serve as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure executional alignment and ensuring deliverables stay on track
  • Provide regular updates and event reports to Sr. Manager of Brand Publicity and Influencer Marketing
  • Manage event budgets across all activations and in-person experiences
  • Support vendor sourcing and management (agencies, venues, production partners), where applicable
  • Deliver post-event reporting, including performance insights, ROI analysis and recommendations
  • Contribute to development of scalable event playbooks and best practices

Qualifications

  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with excellent time management, prioritization, and the ability to deliver high-quality, accurate work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
  • High level of initiative and independence, with the ability to anticipate needs, proactively solve problems, and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience in event planning, marketing activations, and/or experiential campaigns, with hands-on exposure to brand storytelling, live experiences, and audience engagement.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and external partners, and experience coordinating workflows and maintaining clear reporting and updates.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Creativity, enthusiasm, and a love of books are a must.

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
