We’re looking for a creative, strategic, and highly organized individual immersed in social media to drive Harlequin Brand’s organic social presence. Reporting to the Manager, Brand Marketing, you will lead the development and execution of organic social strategies and programs that build brand awareness, deepen community engagement, and support key brand and title-level initiatives.

 

You are equal parts strategist, creator, analyst, and community champion. You bring a strong understanding of social platforms, trends, and tools, and know how to translate data and insights into compelling content and measurable results. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about building vibrant online communities around books, authors, and fandom.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Sr. Manager, Brand Publicity and Influencer Marketing, lead the development of social strategies that align with overarching brand goals and drive audience growth, engagement, and brand affinity.
  • Own the day-to-day execution of our organic social presence across all platforms, including Always-On support for key series and priority titles.
  • Oversee editorial planning, including the creation, scheduling, and publishing of monthly content calendars.
  • Ideate, create, and execute compelling, on-brand social content and copy that adheres to visual guidelines and tone of voice.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Brand Marketing, Editorial, Product, Publicity, and Digital teams to support integrated brand and title-level campaigns, including paid social initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze social performance, establishing KPIs, benchmarks, and insights to inform optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Track, report, and present social media results, trends, and learnings to key stakeholders on a regular cadence.
  • Manage community engagement across social channels, including moderation oversight, issue escalation, and crisis management to protect brand reputation.
  • Stay current on platform updates, tools, and cultural trends, translating insights into actionable strategies and best practices shared across teams and authors.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years community management and moderation experience in a consumer driven social and/or digital marketing environment is preferred.
  • Experience with current and emerging social media channels with an understanding of how they apply to the company’s brands and initiatives.
  • Working knowledge of Photoshop, Canva & Sprout Social an asset.
  • Exceptional writing skills and the ability communicate creatively and in an engaging manner, utilizing the brand guidelines and voice.
  • Must have high proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong time management, organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to work successfully both independently and within a team dynamic.
  • Creative thinker with a drive for results.

The salary range for this position is $56,000-$66,000. We recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As a result, we aim for flexibility in structuring competitive compensation offers to ensure we are able to attract the best candidates. The quoted salary range represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect, and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's experience, industry knowledge, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
