Job Summary:  

HTP Books (Harlequin Trade Publishing) is seeking a Channel Marketing Intern with a passion for books and marketing to libraries and booksellers to join our team. The Intern – Channel Marketing will have the opportunity to develop marketing skills in the adult publishing category. Reporting to the Senior Channel Marketing Manager, the intern will be responsible for providing administrative support to the channel marketing team; preparing materials for trade shows and conferences; creating presentation decks for Book Buzzes; creating advertising materials; posting to social media accounts; and attending departmental meetings. Reporting to the Senior Channel Marketing Manager, the Channel Marketing Intern will be a key member of the Channel Marketing team. Channel Marketing is responsible for promoting HTP’s adult titles to libraries, independent bookstores, and Barnes & Noble store managers.

Responsibilities

Provide marketing support to the Channel Marketing Senior Manager and Channel Marketing Director, including:

  • Designing ads, writing advertising and blog and social media copy
  • Creating presentation decks for Book Buzzes
  • Creating and shipping materials for trade shows and conferences
  • Assisting at local trade shows and events
  • Submitting titles for awards consideration
  • Strategizing LibraryReads and Indie Next campaigns and assisting with outreach
  • Creating swag and promotional pieces for special mailings
  • Assisting on special projects

Qualifications

Specific training or job experience required includes:

  • Completion of university or college education, or possess equivalent/relevant work experience in the areas of communications
  • Applicants must be eligible to work and be paid in Canada
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written) with the aptitude to communicate effectively to the team
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with thorough follow-up and manage time effectively
  • Good problem-solving, decision-making and prioritization skills
  • Proficient at Microsoft Office, WordPress, and Canva
